Garam - (BBD 11/12/2024) 750g Appam Batter

This fresh dough from Garam is ideal for preparing Appam, a universal dish that can be mixed and matched with savory or sweet as well as neutral recipes such as vegetable stew, chickpea curry, vegetable korma, coconut chutney or coconut milk. Appams are crispy on the outside and fluffy and soft on the inside and are a popular choice for breakfast. Garam's dough is made from the best quality rice, rice flakes, fenugreek seeds and urad dhal. Recommended side dishes: Coconut milk sweetened with jaggery and flavoured with cardamom powder pairs really well with Appam.

Preparation: Appam is usually prepared in an appachatti - the traditional Indian cast iron skillet - but it can also be cooked in a regular frying pan like a pancake. For Appam to be particularly delicious, the pan must be lifted, tilted and turned sideways to distribute the batter. Then bake with a lid until the bottom turns golden brown.
Always close the lid of the pack and store in a cool place when using for a longer period of time.
Will keep in the refrigerator for more than a week.
The dough is already lightly salted.

Note: The packaging may be slightly swollen, which is completely normal. The dough it contains may taste a bit sour due to the active fermentation. The seal of the product should be opened after receipt of the goods before the batter is stored in a cool place - even if it is only to be used later.
